In our second Island Guardians video on Local Heroes fighting against plastic pollution, we meet Professor Alan Deidun and Dr Adam Gauci from the Oceanography Malta Research Group at the University of Malta. They tell us all about their research on microplastics and the Andromeda Microplastics app.

In our third Island Guardians video on Local Heroes we follow clean-up pioneer Raniero Borg on his mission to clean up Maltese beaches from plastic waste and other debris.

Raniero is an experienced diver and expert at hauling out ‘the big stuff’ from the depths of the sea. He founded Raniero’s Adventures, which regularly organises beach and seabed clean-ups around Malta and Gozo.
